Custom/Made-To-Order Return, Remake, & Alteration Credit Policy

Returns

As custom clothing is made specially for an individual customer, all custom clothing is considered Final Sale. As such, we do not offer any refunds for Custom/ Made-To-Order garments. Please keep this in mind when placing orders for custom products.

Tailoring and Alteration Credit Reimbursement

If there are any fit issues beyond our tolerances of +/- 0.5 inches per measurement, kindly share photos with our custom team for evaluation where they will determine the best course of action. After consulting with our team, they will decide whether it's best to involve a local tailor near you or have the items returned to us for adjustments.
In many cases, fit issues and/or small repairs can be handled by a local tailor. This is generally a much faster and simpler solution instead of a complete remake.
To request an alteration credit, please send a photo of the itemized receipt from your local tailor to custom@spierandmackay.com within 30 days of receiving your order.
Our maximum alteration credit amounts are listed below, depending on the garment type:

- Suit Jackets/Sportcoats: $75
- Dress Trousers: $50
- Waistcoats: $50
- Outerwear: $75
- Shirts: $30

Please note that alteration credits are only available for your first custom/Made-To-Order garment. Alteration credits are only issued as store credit and not as a refund to the original form of payment.
In cases where a garment measurement is found to be within our tolerance level, other than your first order, we do not provide an alteration credit.

Remakes

Please note that we work with a certain degree of manufacturing tolerance for both our custom and off-the-rack products, so it is possible to find some slight variation in measurements in any of our garments (typically our tolerance level is +/- 0.5 inch per measurement). In cases where a garment measurement is found to be within our tolerance level, other than your first order, we do not provide a remake or alteration credit.
If our team is unable to resolve the issue after consulting with our tailors, we offer one (1) complimentary remake OR a return for store credit for your first custom/Made-To-Order garment.
Complimentary remakes are also offered for items with manufacturing defects, size specs out of tolerance, or incorrect design features. In these cases, the item must be verified by our custom team before the remake is approved.
If your first custom order still has fit issues after your complimentary remake (and all measurements are within tolerance), then we offer one additional remake at 50% of the original purchase price of the item.
The remake or return request should be made within 30 days from the date of delivery of your order.
The original item must be returned to SPIER & MACKAY before the remake is processed.
Remakes are subject to our standard production & delivery timelines for custom orders, unless specified by our production team.
Remakes are subject to fabric availability.
- If the original fabric is not available, or if you would prefer a different fabric, then an alternate fabric may be selected at an equal or lesser value of the original item. If the alternate fabric is a higher value than the original item, then the difference must be paid before the remake is processed.
- If an alternate fabric is not available, then a refund will be issued as store credit only in your customer account.
